FGF Books, 1/15/2026 — All interested in exploring Catholic and historical sites in Ireland are invited to accompany Father Bjorn Lundberg and Sacred Heart of Jesus parish of Winchester, Virginia in a "Pilgrimage Through Ireland" on May 18-28, 2026. Details of this superb 11-day journey through the Emerald Isle can be found at the ProRome Tours: https://prorometours.com/ireland-2026.
Professional Catholic guides will direct the tour, which will include a daily Mass and exclusive meetings with leaders of the revival of the Faith in Ireland.
Some of the sites to be visited include:
- The Shrine of Our Lady of Knock where the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared in 1879.
- The iconic Post Office Museum in Dublin, the former headquarters of the 1916 Easter Rising which changed the course of Irish history.
- The Kilmainham Gaol museum in Dublin, formerly the site of the infamous prison where for centuries many Irish patriots were cruelly incarcerated and executed by the British Government.
- The Dingle Peninsula, the Blarney Castle, the Rock of Cashel, and Armagh
- The rugged beauty of Connemara, the dramatic Cliffs of Moher, and the ancient monastic settlement at Clonmacnoise.
- The first independent faithful Catholic classical secondary school in Ireland, Mater Dei Academy in Cork.
This pilgrimage will weave together Ireland’s rich spiritual heritage with its cultural and historical treasures --Fr. Bjorn Lundberg
Connie Marshner, founder of the Saints and Scholars Foundation, will also be on the tour providing commentary and lectures along the way. Her foundation was instrumental in establishing Mater Dei Academy in Cork, the first Catholic classical secondary school in Ireland. Connie, who is fluent in Gaelic, is also the author of Monastery and High Cross: The Forgotten Roots of Irish Christianity (Sophia Institute Press, 2024, 240 pages).
As the tour traverses the Emerald Isle, participants will be accommodated at three 4-star hotels: the Iveagh Gardens in Dublin, the Maldron Hotel Shandon in Cork City, and the Galway Bay Hotel in Galway.
It will be an exhilarating excursion with ample time for prayer, reflection, and rest between sites

The photo depicts a statuary on the grounds of the Knock Basilica and Shrine in County Mayo, Ireland. In 1879, 15 villagers of Knock witnessed an apparition on the wall of the parish church of Our Lady, St. Joseph and St. John the Evangelist -- and also saw the Lamb of God standing on an altar. Read more details here. Knock is one of the stops on the "Pilgrimage Through Ireland" on May 18-28.
