FGF Enters Transgenderism Battle: A Petition for Assistance
by Fran Griffin
August 19, 2024
fgfBooks.com, 8/19/24 — Should biological males be allowed to be on women’s sports teams?
Transgenderism was on prominent display at the recent Olympics. It is the view of FGF that women’s sports teams should be comprised of biological women, which oddly has become a controversial stance.
Over the next few weeks, FGF is participating in the preparation and filing of seven amicus briefs in seven separate cases involving transgenderism being presented to the Supreme Court. The briefs are being written and filed by the outstanding law firm, William J. Olson, P.C., Attorneys At Law.
The first two cases are Bradley Little, Governor of Idaho, et al v. Lindsay Hecox, et al; and the State of West Virginia v. B.P.J., by Next Friend and Mother, Heather Jackson.
In the Idaho case, a biological male is challenging the “Fairness in Women’s Sport Act,” enacted by the Idaho legislature in 2020 which requires that only biological females be allowed to compete in interscholastic women’s and girls’ teams in Idaho state schools; and likewise restricts biological males to men’s and boys’ teams. The law is being challenged by a biological male wishing to try out for the women’s cross country and track teams at Boise State University.
The West Virginia case is similar. The legislature there enacted the “Save Women’s Sports Bill” in 2021. B.P.J., a biological male who describes himself as a “transgender girl” challenged the law under the Equal Protection Clause and Title IX as he wished to compete on the girls’ track and cross country teams.
Here are copies of the two amicus briefs: Bradley Little, Governor of Idaho v. Lindsay Hecox, and the State of West Virginia v. B.P.J.
